Board Message & Members
Message from the Board:
Providing educational opportunities that allows our young people to succeed today in school and tomorrow in whatever profession or vocation they choose is an important responsibility of all citizens of the East Knox Community. Maintaining local control of our school district is also important, as it allows us to decide what those educational opportunities will be.
In effect, we are able to determine not only what opportunities are children will have, but also what opportunities will be available for future generations of East Knox students.
Local control of our schools is maintained by the citizens of our community and overseen by the five elected members of the Board of Education.
Each of the five members is elected to a four-year term. The job of the Board of Education is to present the "moral ownership"--that is, the residents of the East Knox District - in determining and demanding appropriate organizational performance within the school district.
